A Wedge at work

As the wedge moves, from angle to angle, it explains what it is, and how
it looks.
As you can see, the wedge, and wood placed together, also looks likes an
axe. They're both used to;

  • Chop things into half or bits
  • Firewood.....
And loads of other things,.

A wedge is a simple machine, used to lift, or break things apart.
Simple machines are very useful to people, and very simple to use,
that's how they got their name.
A simple machine is also known as an:
  1. Incline Plane
  2. Pulley
  3. Screw
  4. Lever
  5. Wheel & Axle
  6. Wedge
  7. And more
Thank you for reading my brief information on what I've wrote. Hopefully I've taught you what, and how a simple machine works. If not click on the word information below:

Comment down below how it went!!

Omaru Stream170317

Omaru Stream

Kia Ora, my name is Jasmine, and I attend Glen Innes School. For the past few weeks, my school has been learning about healthy streams. Omaru Stream is not far from our school, so we started experimenting and cleaning it up. Right now the stream is filthy and all covered with rubbish. Our job is to help clean it, and keep it healthy. We don't look after our local streams for the look, but to also keep the aquatic animals safe. We shouldn't be oblivious to litter, otherwise when it rains, it'll wash into the streams and rivers. If we work together, our work will pay off, and end up looking nice and healthy.

Badminton

Badminton

Today was our final badminton lesson. We had lessons every week, and today was our last session. Every lesson was on Wednesday after lunch. We learnt forehand, backhand, underarm, overhead and how to serve. Our instructor's name was Kylie, and she told us that there's 16 duck feathers on each shuttlecock. We learnt how to gently bounce the shuttlecock onto the racket, and we also had a lot of fun competitions. It was fun learning how to use the shuttlecock, but at the same time challenging because we needed a lot of focus. There can come consequences in badminton because people can sometimes swing their rackets to hard, and they can accidentally hit someone. We had a lot of fun in badminton. We learnt things we didn't know and how to do it the proper way.
Thank you.
