The Zoo Trip

On the 7th of August at 9:30, rooms 6, 10, 11 and 12,  left school for an exciting trip to the Zoo. We traveled by bus, and as we arrived to the Auckland  Zoo, we met a lady named, ‘Kirsty’ As she introduced herself, she explained a little about what we’re going to see, and how to be with them.

As we hopped off the bus, Kirsty took us to a few men called, ‘Frazer, and John.’ As they were saying how many animals there were, and how cool it was, they suspiciously said,

“ The more quiet you stay, the more animals you see.” And as we stayed quiet while he was talking, it was actually a distraction, so we could see the meaning of what he said. Then he quietly whispered,
“ Now that you all are quiet, you haven’t noticed what has crossed behind you.” As we turned around, we saw a stunning peacock with it’s brightly coloured feathers.

Next, we saw Kirsty saying, “ Hey guys, I’m going to take you to the lizards and all the reptiles.

We were supposed to eat first, but we were to fascinated, so we went straight ahead.
As we arrived, Kirsty told us that reptiles can camouflage really good with their natural habitat, and she gave us a challenge. It was to find three different types of lizards to spot. I found a tuatara, gecko and a bearded dragon.

A few hours later after we’ve seen  a lot of animals, we had lunch.
During lunch we arrived at the hippo’s river. Surprisingly, we saw nothing. We were now told that they’ve got sick and died. It started from the little baby, at 2 or 3 years old I think, and carried on to the mother, then father. Next we saw the alligator. It was big, but thin, scally, and strong.

Further down we went to have a rest after all the wandering around.
We all went to the park and had a little rest and chat. Children went
playing at the park. Unlike the others John, Joedzy, Javarn, Sosaia and I, just sat under a tree, talking but relaxing.

Lastly it was time to go home, but before that, we had to take a photo:

I had a lovely time at the Auckland Zoo, hopefully, we go again!
