All about me

All about me

Aloha, my name is Jasmine and I attend to Glen Innes School. I'm in room 10 and my teacher is Mrs Petersen. I love eating fruit, and my favourite one is rockmelon. My friends are, Laina, Leilah, Eric, Moko, Indira, Charm, Vavia and a whole lot of other people. One thing that we all have in common, is that we're all loud, we laugh loud, and we all love dancing. When I arrive home from school, my brothers and I play with my little nephew. He's about three years old turning four this month on the thirteen. He likes playing wrestling and at the end we all have to act dead so he'll feel like he won.

Vector

Vector

Vector is a company that helps children of any sizes and shapes keep safe, away from powerlines. Power lines are kept inside poles covered with rubber, not allowing the cords near the human body.
But that doesn't mean it's still safe to swing, sit or jump on transmitters, transformers or power poles. It's still dangerous for us to even go near them.

There once was a boy, who loved climbing trees.
One day, he saw a tree next to a power pole, and on that power pole was a platform with a transmitter above it.
The next day, he saw it was gone so, he climbed the tree and hopped onto the flatform. After, he screamed "YEAH!" as loud as he could to celebrate his victory. He didn't know what power safety was, but his hands were to high, high enough to get electrocuted. So when he was, he fell to the floor.

Now the good thing was that he survived, but that is how powerful open wires can be. Even chargers, can harm you.
That's why Vector's here. To help keep us safe.

Tech

On a nice hot sunny Monday, years 7-8 hopped onto a bus heading to Tamaki College, straight after morning tea at 11:25 for technology. Before we left the classroom, my teacher Mrs Tuokoi, told us what group we were in. The students in my year (year 7's) were in the cooking class with Mrs Heka, along with two other year sevens, and one year eight.

As soon as we got there, we were taken to our rooms. The first thing Mrs Heka instructed us to do, was to store all our jackets, netbooks and extra things in a cubby hole. After that, our job was to chuck an apron on and wash our hands. As we partnered up and figured out where our kitchen was, Mrs Hecka explained how to clean, polish and wash the tables. As that pasted, we got our little trolly with all our cookware, that were needed in order to bake. Later on, and we finally got onto the cooking part. The first instruction we were told to do was to wash the small, silver bowl, then to bring out the pink and green knife, along with the red and green chopping board. Meanwhile Mrs Hecka, made it clear that dishwashers come to front with their red chopping board and knife, to get the bacon in order to make pizza. Secondly came the dryer/packer, with a measuring cup to put two slices of pineapples into. Then grabbing the pizza sauce and a whole wrap bread to use as base for the pizza. We were handed a metalled tray to put our wrap onto, then we spread the tomato sauce all over, making it look like a cherry. Next, we put the bacon onto the tomato sauce, and added the pineapples, with the final touch of sprinkled mozzarella to complete the pizza.

Now comes the dishes. As we did it, time passed and our pizza was ready to come out of the oven. We were told to cut into four pieces, and were handed brown pieces of paper to put it onto. I definitely loved cooking with Mrs Hecka, and am excited and looking forward to doing it next week Monday.

My Goals for 2019
My goals for 2019. In order to achieve them, I will need to work hard and get through the multiple steps, assigned for me to work my way up. The challenge won't be easy, instead I expect myself to fail many times before I can succeed. I just need to persevere knowing it was my best.

Speech Marks

Today I took a quiz that shows how good I am using quotation marks. It's been a challenge, but I've managed to get 10/10 in my results. Here is proof:
